Urban fill material containing debris including ash and coal encountered during assessment activities require classification. For example, S-1 classification may be based upon the high frequency of use by adults and children and/or high intensity of activities at the Site.
The MCP may provide exemptions from reporting and/or cleanup for specific conditions that are common in urban fill.
After consulting with an LSP there may be an opportunity to introduce the minimum cover required using a Capping Alternative Design, to limit access to exposure. A Orange Warning Barrier Geotextile may be placed over the site. The objective of the Barrier is to provide a warning layer for any future excavation. This approach may offer the best cost benefit alternative. We recommend engaging an LSP prior to advancing this or any approach.
